Tubing?

Now that I have your attention....

Alrighty, since I'm super busy at work and also with this whole medical school orientation stuff, I am posting online to get all of your attention, and try to spread the word to the appropriate friends. This Saturday we are trying to organize a tubing trip down either the Welch River or the Root River. The Welch River is located in the town of Welch Village, and the Root River is located in the town of Lanesboro. Both are pretty good rivers to drink/tube/socialize on so I was wondering which of you guys are interested and can make it and which river would be better for you. Moreover, invite all your lady friends as I am sure to invite as many of my own as I can.

If this trip works out, it will probably be my last get together before I leave for Dartmouth. I would like to see all of you, and this would be a great opportunity. Let me know if you are ready willing and able, and I will send you more detailed plans.

The syntax for images is: [image=http://example.com/blah]

However, you cannot link files (images or otherwise) which are uploaded to the downloads section. The token is specific to your IP address. Other people need to get their own tokens by viewing the download page. This is to prevent massive bandwidth theft.

The server has no concept of FTP. It does have a web interface for managing support files (like, stylesheets and banner images), but that's for admin use only. There's really nowhere to put your own images right now for the purpose of embedding them in news posts. I'll think about a solution to that...

Why not just allow images to be linked from the forum sans-token?

Well, obviously if I want to change code, there are plenty of solutions. But I'm not going to change code to fix this. I think I'll create a new image-only upload section which will use referrer checks but not tokens.
