I will be there, complete with 2 computers if someone needs one (someone always does).

Lester, Jesse, and Jim will be there. Have yet to get ahold of Peter or Luke, but seeing as how they've been coming to my parties for a decade I imagine they'll be there.

Pat? Will you be in town for the holidays?

Supposedly Battlefield 2 is good. I haven't tried it. But, I'll probably have a copy for the LAN party, and we should probably play.

everyone should play counter-strike (not counter-strike: source; counter-strike OG) I have a feeling everyone has a copy of it that is legit. also you guys should get a mad game of WoW going. I know that nobody plays that game and i hear it is hard to get a game going as there are hardly any servers. Also I feel that Dikatana got a bad rap when it came out and you guys should revisit it just to make sure.

BF2 is pretty good, but I don't know how well it will go over at a lan. Its got two strikes against it: Lack of multiplayer bots (maybe it was fixed up in a later patch, or a user mod) and intense CPU requirments. My 2.2 ghz ATI 9700 chugged on it, but it was playable. (The Shuttle PC, Thats the one pat will be playing on). So unless everyone has a faster system than that, we may need to look elsewhere. The battlefield games when they are 4 on 4 tend to be kind of lame.

Anyone play F.E.A.R? Got good reviews, have not played it.

Hrm. Sounds like BF2 is a no-go. Oh well.

I'm just not up on the game news... I don't play them very often. :/

I will have Civ IV. If we can actually make it run without, you know, causing all our computers to explode...

well I didn't bring any games back with me. Civ4 is fun, but it seems to get bad slow downs late in teh game. I had to turn down my graphics from high to medium once things really got to being sluggish.

BF2 would be fun, been playing a lot of DOD:S. But I think the game we all might have fun playing is Age3. I think I might be the only that has played it, but its really easy to pick up and get used to, I have only played probably 6 games or so that is just me and some friends against computers. And I will go easy the first couple of rounds so once people get adjusted to it.

I really want to play Savage some more and definately can't wait for S2. I am going to say pass on Serious Sam2, we played that a lot at work and it just wasn't that fun, as opposed to SS1. FEAR MP I hear is quite good, though I bought the game but haven't really played it since I realized my computer at home is rather drab.

I will see if I can remember any other games that came out this year since I am sure there are a few that I am not remembering

oh and I might be able to get my dad's computer, since his 5 year old one just died so we went out and get a completely new system yesterday, not top of the line since he just uses it for audio editing and such

AMD 64 3000+
Geforce 6800

These are all good right? I still suck when it comes to knowing about video cards and such.

My system is still the same old AMD (32-bit) 3200+/GeForce FX 5950, and continues to work great. So, yeah, I think you'll be fine with that system.

Actually, at the LAN I'll be using a laptop. It's a damned fine laptop with a high-end graphics card (why they give me this for server programming I do not know), but laptops just don't compare to desktops in terms of performance.

Glad to hear I am not the only person who gets massive slow downs playing civ4 in the late game. It got so bad I was wishing they stuck to 2d graphics.

As to DoD:S, Maybe we should just pressure everyone who is going to lan to get it. (Most probably have it already). Its only $20 after all. Its just too bad the 64 bit source engine is for HL2, and not all source games.

Yeah, as long as everyone has steam I'm sure we can work out DoD:S...

It helps. It still isn't great but it does improve the gameplay.

If you guys leave some room for some DoD later in the night - say 2 in the morning - I know one mofo that would log on an play with you guys.
