LAN party?
Posted by Temporal at 2005/04/24 21:04:41 CDT

OK, this is seriously my last LAN party, as my big project is (as you can see) done, and I am really applying for jobs, like, now. So sometime next month I want to have a LAN. Everyone let me know what weekends do or do not work for you in May, and whether you would prefer a Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday party. Also list any games you think we should play.

This LAN party will have no cover charge.

Cool. There are a few dates in May which appeal to me. At the present time I do not remember what they are.

Dates which I know kinda suck for me:
Weekend of May 7: friend's wedding. Thinking further, anything prior to the 14th is probably bad, as I have a ton of stuff I need to finish by then and I'll probably be running right up to the deadline. Potentially the weekend after that one is best. I will update if i'm wrong or confirm if I'm right. The weekend of the 7th I definately cannot do though.

May 14th = Erin's Party at the Chateau. Free booze and stuff, I have already made plans and have told her that a few of us are going. so that weekend is out. May 20th/May21st I also have stuff going on.

May 7th until 8th (Its also mother's day) Liz and I are going to be out of town, and we have opera tickets for the 21st. Otherwise I can be there.

Hmm. So far looks like the last weekend (28th-29th) is winning.

You'll just have to connect via ethernet bridge, then.

LAN party, confirmed: Kenton, Jim, Lester, Jesse, Mike, Aaron, Pat(!).

LAN party, likely: Matt, Andrew, and I would guess Peter though he hasn't talked to me.

Pat needs a computer. Anyone have a spare?

Oh, yeah, I think Tim said he might buy a new computer and come.

I can bring my old box (Radeon 9700 pro, 512 mb ram, 1.8 ghz cpu). It cant do HL2, but it can do most other games. I also have a spare Geforce3 laying around too. I wont have a monitor to bring for the 2nd computer however. Kenton, do you have a spare monitor?

I doubt tim is going to have a computer, I was helping him choose the parts until he realized computers cost money.

I want to come!! I will be at work so you guys can talk to me through IM. I will feel like I am there! I wonder of they would have an issue with me bringing my box in to play games?

So when are people planning on showing up?

I'm picking up Lester, Jesse, and Andrew before noon. Most of the others have expressed an intent to get here around noon as well.

Oh, and Peter is coming, though he'll have to leave for a few hours to go to work, I guess.
