An Inconvenient Truth

If it happens, it happens... I am more worried about peoples reactions to the changing of the poles. Will people freak out and think that the world is coming to an end?

Most people aren't educated enough to not freak out, even so we only know what we can tell from geology and rock formations. Some say the switch could be as fast as 10 years. I personally think it would be much cooler if we just woke up one morning and found we all now live in the tropics. That Duluth beach would then be nice all year round... :-)

I don't think inverting the poles will have that effect.

You do realize that it's the poles of the Earth's magnetic field that change right?

I think we will see an increased incidence of skin cancer when the poles are flipping.

Wait... I just had a crazy idea.... Since the magnetic field shields us from UV rays, and greenhouse gases help trap water vaper in the atmosphere, maybe the global warming that we see is actually the earth protecting us from the UV radiation that we would be exposed to when the poles flip. Mother earth sure is smart, we best not mess with her, and just let her do her work.
