I will try and get final pics in the next few days.
Our house is located here: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=springfield+va&hl=en
in between near 620 Braddock rd. and Lake Accotink.
Current house satisicts:
2 people - looking for one more
3 dogs - they out number the people
2 cats - you need to see pics of these you will laugh your hair and balls off. nuff said.
3 sugar gliders - now five they just had babies.
an undisclosed amount of fish
an undisclosed amount of mice/rats - I could do without them.
In other words I live in a petting zoo. Luckly the house is huge and the pics (linked above) miss the basement where all the animals stay.
I start tommorrow stay tune to the extended content for fantasic updates on my day today life.
-----------------------------------
Sorry all I was planning to update this entry yesterday but I got caught up in things and I didn't get back from work until 4 am.
Now that I have been working at AOL for more than three days I can safely tell you what my job title actually means. As I mentioned above I am the Associate Producer of News and Sports Video. Basically I am responsible for all video clips that end up on AOL news and sports throughout my shift. I scan XML feeds from CNN and ABC (this will eventually expand to feeds from AP and Reuters) and check for new video assets (video files available to grab.
I then grab new video assets I think we are going to use and get them inputted into html blocks (really basic) so they can be dropped in these category bins (basically a huge repository of news clips… actually really cool). I then add the video to another database so it can be hooked up to ads. I fire off an email notify people that the clips are ready for use and "wash hands and repeat".
Now that I am working evenings I get to deal primarily with sports, or so I have been told, which means watching sports all the time (makes me happy).
On a side note my sister is graduating from Carnegie Mellon on Saturday. I talked to my boss and told him that I my sisters graduation is this weekend and that I was going to work six days this week and asked if he wanted me working six days... subtly hinting overtime pay and how much I would like Saturday or Sunday off.
Fortunately, he realized the cost benefit of having me work over time and agreed to give me a day off. Unfortunately he determined Tuesday would be a good day to take off. :/
So everyone is working for the weekend… except me because I am working for Mondays and Tuesdays. Really gives a new meaning to Wednesday (a.k.a. Hump day).
