Why is this web site (theposse.org) listed in the "Special thanks to:" section of the "Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30" Operating Manual (PS2)? What did this web site do for the game to get a Special thanks?

Man... I spend a year and a half developing the technology powering this web server and then Mojo gets all the happycakes just 'cause he works for Gearbox! :P

Metatron-

Welcome... sorry for the mess we just moved servers and all. The reason we were mentioned was because it is a well known fact (in certain circles that is) that "we" may, or may not have, sat, or stood, toe to toe with some of the video game greats... "We" have spent enough money on video games to send all the kids of gearbox employees to college. A special thanks to us was inevitable... I remember back in the day when we were sitting in a LAN party and said... the current state of WWII Video games is appalling. I can't get enough Nazi killing in... and everybody hates the Nazis... even other Nazis hate Nazis... cause that’s what Nazis do... they hate.

It was during this time we made a pact... we would not rest until we convinced every game company to create WW2 video games with promises not of profit but of happy cakes.

But why you ask? Why would a multi-million dollar company make a game simply for the opportunity for happy cakes? If they are in fact a multi-million dollar company would they not order their own happy cake oven? The answer of course is no.

And I will tell you why the answer is no. Because it's not because of the heating element, a forty watt bulb, or the delicious batter... no it’s the secret ingredient... which just happens to be love... damn it.

So why do you ask did we get a mention in the "Special Thanks" section... well maybe we are just special!

and by special I don't mean special special... you know like retared kids... I mean special like your mommy's special little boy special. Just thought I would throw that out.

But to be serious for a moment we are well known for making a disclaimer appear on a website that gives (i can't believe I am rehashing this) "HANDI-CAPABLE" kids a chance to have take care of Shetland ponies. I am sure someone was taken back by my demands to be admited to the program and felt sorry for us and said lets make them feel special and put them in the special thanks section of a video game or two.

How appropriate to give disabled children three-legged ponies...

Well if all it takes is to buy and play more video games than God, then I should be in the Special Thanks section of almost all the video game manuals in the past ten years or more. I've been buying, playing, and finishing about 50-60 video games a year, ever since Pong came out, then Intellivision, Timex Sinclair, NES (Final Fantasy), Gameboy, Genesis with Sega CD, Nomad, Super NES, Saturn, Playstation, and PS2. I should at least get Special Thanks for buying and playing every console version of Medal of Honor since PS1 and finishing them (I still have all the Sega, SNES, Saturn, PS1 and PS2 games that I've ever bought also.).

No no... you have to buy move video games than God and be personal friends with one of the developers of the game in question. Or just the latter works too.
